Crimson Neurology
A clinical identity built to communicate specialist expertise, trust and continuity of care.
Visual Designer & Branding Consultant
The brief
Credible and clinical, without becoming cold.
Crimson Neurology is a specialist neurology practice in Adelaide. It needed a distinctive identity that communicated medical expertise to both patients and referring healthcare professionals, while staying approachable rather than institutional.
The system had to work at every scale — from the logo and digital applications through to referral materials, stationery and signage.
Brand direction
Four attributes connected the brief to the visual exploration, balancing clinical authority with warmth.
- Clinical Expertise
- Precision
- Calm Assurance
- Human Centred

Logo development
Early exploration looked at neurological and clinical visual cues before progressively simplifying them into a unified symbol. The final mark balances structure and movement, creating an identity that feels specialist and precise without becoming visually cold.

Colour system
A deep crimson anchors the identity with confidence, while softer blush, stone and mist tones introduce warmth. Charcoal provides contrast for professional and information-led applications.

Results & reflection
Healthcare branding doesn’t need to be visually complex to communicate expertise.
The identity gave Crimson Neurology a distinctive specialist presence with a consistent foundation across patient, referral, print and digital touchpoints. Reducing several neurological references into one clear idea made it more memorable, more flexible and easier to apply.
